And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Galatians 6:9-10
Let us not grow weary of doing good. Out of all of the emotions and feelings we can all testify to experiencing as of late, weary is surely one of them. Weary of the unknown, weary of the news, weary of facemasks, weary of the smell of cheap hand sanitizer... the list goes on and on. In the verse above, the Apostle Paul writes to the Galatians, encouraging them in the journey of their faith. He speaks of the opportunity that believers are given: the chance to sow good things into the world and the people around them, so that in due time, they will reap a plentiful harvest. Today and everyday, we have the opportunity to do just that in every area of our lives: our families, work and our home care. We live in a world that is growing weary and tired, yet as followers of Jesus, we are called to press on, to do good, and to love and care for people just as our Savior did.
However, it’s undeniable that there are times when we do begin to grow weary, tired, and discouraged. In these seasons, we often turn to our fears, failing to fix our eyes upon Jesus, and begin sowing seeds of doubt and anxiety. While we believe wholeheartedly that we serve a God of rest, it's easy to begin to lose sight of our eternal hope, and of the abundant life promised to us. As those who belong to the household of faith, and as members of the body of believers, we have the beautiful opportunity to be the hands of God to those around us. Yet in order to avoid growing weary, we must allow God to fill us up, before we can go out and serve others.
So this week we are choosing to ask ourselves:
Where is our focus, and what are we choosing to meditate on?
Is our attention fixed on fear, anxiety or worry?
Or is it anchored in our eternal hope, in the abundant life that He promised us?
At EPAGA, we rejoice knowing that we have been given full access to His rest, and are confident of His faithfulness in our lives. As a community, we are praying this week that we would not grow weary of doing good, and that the opportunities to do so would be revealed to us.
The Bible tells us that the world will come to know Jesus by our love, and that we serve a King who is present and near to us. This is what our company has been built upon, and will continue to be, especially in this season.
May we not lose heart.
With hope,
The EPAGA Family
