“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:1-2
2021 is upon us at last, and we’re feeling excited and hopeful for the year ahead. As we reflect on the year that lies behind us, (no matter how uncertain and unexpected it was at times) we are filled with gratitude for our clientele and the worthy nature of our work. The author of Hebrews poignantly writes of ‘the race’ that each of us, as followers of Jesus are called to run. God has promised us His love, His compassion and His perseverance as we run this race, whatever it may be. Everyone’s race and story looks different, as we’re each called to pursue and fulfill something different, according to His purpose. Some of us are called to work in health care, and some of us to be farmers. Some are most alive as they care for their homes and their children, and some find joy in their professional careers. This is the beauty of our Heavenly Father; He cheers us on and champions us as we discover who we are, and what we are called to as we press onwards to Eternity, and into the presence of Jesus forever.
Here at EPAGA Home Care, the race we have been called to run is fueled by compassion and care, as we assist members of our community in navigating some of the most challenging and difficult seasons of their lives. It doesn't always feel like a race, and certainly most days it feels more like a walk, a slow-paced journey as we care for our clients: making important decisions that ensure their well-being and participating in hard conversations surrounding care provision. But we wholeheartedly believe that the race we have been called to run is important and worthwhile, and we’re confident that we have the very best staff to carry out our mission. As EPAGA looks to the new year, we are expectant of running our race well; holding fast to our values and remaining dependent on what we know is beneficial to our work. With the well-being of our clientele and their families constantly at the forefront of our minds, we look forward to serving past and future clients in 2021, and remaining reliable, steadfast and diligent in the work we have been called to.
Here’s to the new year, to serving God and His people in an excellent way, and looking towards the future with hope. We know who holds the future, and who holds onto us.
As Drew Holcomb writes:
“It's a New Year,
It's a new song,
It's the same old mystery.”
Happy 2021!
