Striving for Growth - A Look into the Budding Relationship Between IFA & EPAGA Home Care

Over the past year, we have worked hard to position ourselves amongst the best and brightest in the Franchising world. We learned early on that surrounding ourselves with professional people, who specialize in franchise concepts, would give us the greatest likelihood of success as we started to build out our franchise system. 

While we believe we are exceptional at home care, we knew we needed assistance to assemble the franchise system in the best possible package. One thing we kept hearing, from every franchise consultant, franchise attorney, and franchise accountant is that we needed to attend the International Franchise Association (IFA) Convention. We took the advise of our professional team, attended in 2020, and we are so glad we did. As an emerging franchisor, we had the opportunity to attend sessions, participate in round table discussions with some of the most accomplished talents in the franchise world, hear from other emerging franchisors, witness franchise transformations from industry leaders (look at the re-branding of KFC), and so much more.

The International Franchise Association is a conglomerate made up of thousands of individuals, businesses, organizations and members with a common goal of promoting and preserving the franchise industry. As their website states: "It began with a goal to serve the national franchising community and grew into an unstoppable global resource that advocates for and protects our members and their businesses. We work relentlessly to advance the future of franchising."

Inga Lake, CFO EPAGA Home Care

Inga has been part of the EPAGA family since the company’s founding date in 2007, and while she’s one of the owners, she also operates in the role of CFO. Similarly to many of her fellow staff, her passion for home care is derived from a personal narrative and experience. In our own conversation she reflected back on the season in her life when her grandfather fell ill, and it was important to both him and his family that he was at home during a difficult season of life. In light of this, Inga was given a front row seat to the harsh reality of just how hard it is to find an adequate care provider, and an excellent one at that. Because of her grandfather’s situation, she began to learn what home care was, and began to realize the exponential need for quality care provision. In this process, she discovered something she felt passionate about, and an area in which she felt capable of initiating change.
